FANTASY FORECAST 2017/18: FPL Gameweek 31
Ahead of each Gameweek in the Fantasy Premier League the Hype Train invites a special guest onto its Fantasy Forecast, where the three members of the Hype Team and its Guests will duel for FPL supremacy in predicting Premier League scores, as well as going head to head in picking a Scout Picks squad for the relevant Gameweek. In addition, we give our insight into who are the players to watch and those to drop, both for traditional FPL leagues and the Draft mode, as well as providing insight into captaincy picks, differentials for the week, and more. Welcome to the Forecast. All aboard.
Fantasy Premier League: Gameweek Deadline
For the 2016/17 Premier League season, the FPL deadline will be one hour before the commencement of the week's first game. The Premier League website lists each FPL deadline, you can always ask on social media, and you can also view a real time countdown on our Weekly Hype page.
How does our Forecasting work?
We have taken to our Hype Team, and the FPL Community, to compete in a weekly head to head dual of wits. We are asking the questions that dominate each week in the Fantasy Premier League: who to pick, who to avoid, who to captain, and who may surprise. The 3 members of the Hype Team, and a Guest, will provide weekly insight for the Gameweek ahead. For the sake of respecting the rules of the Forecast, we have provided an example of what we're sending out to interested parties.
Premier League Fixture Prediction: As pundits, we are testing our football acumen with PL predictions and will be providing regular updated tables and stats in each edition of the FPL Forecast. A perfect score is worth 3 points whilst a correct result is worth 1 point.
FPL Gameweek Forecasting: Answering the regular questions that come up every single week in the Fantasy Premier League community that helps with identifying captaincy picks, transfers, attacking options, clean sheet potential, teams to look our for and avoid, players to consider for the Draft game, the wildcard differential players, as well as general analysis and comments.
Scout Picks: Picking a squad of 15 for a single Gameweek, without any budget, using the rules of the FPL - formations, captains and vice captains, and the player limits of 3 per club (chips will not be feature of these weekly picks)
Each team must pick a Captain, labelled as (c) and a Vice Captain listed as (vc).
Fixture Prediction: 2017/18 Points Table
In our predictions a perfect score is 3 points, and predicting the right outcome is worth 1 point (aka if a team wins but, you predict it, but don't get the perfect score). Below is the Gameweek and overall rundown of our Premier League predictions series for the season.

Best GW Defensive / Clean Sheet Potential:

Who would you Transfer In and Out for the Gameweek and beyond?:
IN: Jordan Pickford (GK), Andrew Robertson (DEF), Junior Stanislas (MID), Cenk Tosun (FWD)
OUT: Nick Pope (GK), Harry Maguire (DEF), Xherdan Shaqiri (MID), Harry Kane (FWD)
Who are the players that might make the difference this Gameweek in the Draft?:
If you can pick up any players from the eight teams playing this week…do it. Everton defenders, Bournemouth defenders, and some others might be worth a gamble just to buffer your points total.
Who are the teams to look out for?:
Liverpool: The Reds are the best team in the Gameweek, obviously.
Bournemouth: The Cherries face West Brom, the league’s worst team.
Who are the teams to avoid?:
Watford: The Hornets are going against the best team in the Gameweek, avoid.
Huddersfield: I think there is a lot of logic in avoiding the Terriers this week now that Wilfried Zaha is available.
GW Differential Picks:
As the writer of the differentials I have gone for Robertson, Stanislas, Zaha, and Tosun as the essential options that are under the banner of low ownership. Not going to lie, most of the players that you’ll be looking at are classed as differentials.
FPL Captaincy Picks:
(C): Mohamad Salah – Who else other than the King of Egypt?
(VC): Roberto Firmino – Who else in such a limited Gameweek?
Other Gameweek Comments:
I am in the school of thought that the Free Hit chip is the way to go this week, especially because in my personal team I would be left with just my Liverpool options to play.

FPL Forecasting: Gameweek 31
GW Differential Picks:
Junior Stanislas (BOU): With Josh King a doubt, Stanislas should find more opportunities to rack up points. Owned by just 3% overall.
FPL Captaincy Picks: (C) Mo Salah: There is no other option. (VC) Roberto Firmino: Plays for Mo Salah FC.
Other Gameweek Comments: Don't play Free Hit Chip. Don't play Wildcard. Don't take too many hits.

Best GW Defensive / Clean Sheet Potential:

Who would you Transfer In and Out for the Gameweek and beyond?:
IN: Adam Smith or Nathan Ake, Tosun, Mounie, Lossl
OUT: Shaqiri, Kane, Jordan Ayew, and any expendable option that could give you the edge in the next few weeks.
Who are the players that might make the difference this Gameweek in the Draft?:
Phil Jagielka (EVE) - Recently came back into the fold and will be a starter.
Adam Smith (BOU) - In an attacking role for Bournemouth and is a key figure for supplying demand into the box for the likes of Wilson and Stanislas.
Who are the teams to look out for?:
Huddersfield: I think they'll win this one quite comfortably.
Everton: A lot of their stronger assets are back in the fold, so should be a good performance at Stoke.

Fixture Prediction: Gameweek 31
Bournemouth 2-0 West Brom
Huddersfield 1-1 Crystal Palace
Stoke 1-2 Everton
Liverpool 3-0 Watford
FPL Forecasting: Gameweek 31
Best GW Attacking Options:
Salah: It is inevitable to avoid the Egyptian as he has scored in 5 of his last 6 gameweeks and is the top most points scorer in FPL this season .
Shaqiri: The Stoke midfielder has been in fine form scoring in 2 of the last 4 Gameweek's and is Stokes's main man and should be a threat to the Everton defenders.
Zaha: Back from his injury Crystal Palace would be happy to see him on the pitch. He is a definite goal threat as Palace look dangerous with him. They have never won with him out of the side.
Best GW Defensive / Clean Sheet Potential:
Van Dijk: With them facing Watford at home.Liverpool provide a safe clean sheet route and the Dutch being a goal threat from corners it is hard to ignore him
Ake: Bournemouth could capitalise on West Brom's low confidence and with him being a goal threat from set play he is one to watch as he may guarantee a clean sheet
Who would you Transfer In and Out for the Gameweek and beyond?:
Mane: One to watch in the coming Gameweek's is definitely Sadio Mane with the next fixtures being Watford, Crystal Palace, Bournemouth, and West Brom. He is one to consider especially if you don't have Firmino.
Walcott: Is a person who should be considered being transferred out after BGW31 as he has not convinced us enough to keep him and his next fixtures after BGW31 include Man City and Liverpool.
Who are the players that might make the difference this Gameweek in the Draft?:
Robertson: If you don't own Van Dijk he is an option due to his attacking prowess and likelihood of clean sheets.
Shaqiri: It is impossible to ignore Stokes's main man as his skills and attacking prowess might get them out of trouble and is always in hand for BPS whenever he scores.
Who are the teams to look out for?:
Liverpool: They would be looking to bounce back from their defeat at Old Trafford and with their attacking prowess at home it is hard to make a claim against them.
Bournemouth: Eddie Howe will look to avenge their loss to Spurs as they face bottom side West Bring who look down and low on confidence.
Who are the teams to avoid?:
Watford: The Hornet's visit the Anfield after being beaten by Arsenal at the Emirates and an away trip to Liverpool is not one to cherrish as they meet a wounded Reds side looking to avenge their loss to Man United.
West Brom: The Baggies are in disarray as they lost to Leicester by 4 goals over the weekend and it is hard to find positives in them
GW Differential Picks:
1 - Mane
2 - Pritchard
3 - Stanislas
FPL Captaincy Picks:
(C): Mohamad Salah
(VC): Roberto Firmino
Other Gameweek Comments:
I am in the school of thought that the Free Hit chip is the way to go this week, especially because in my personal team I would be left with just my Liverpool options to play.
